The Gressenhall Singers

Gressenhall has its own village choir. It began with 30 singers of all ages performing at the Switch On of Christmas Lights on the Village Green in December 2016. It has since doubled in size and there is now a waiting list.

The choir performs regularly throughout the year – concerts and special services at St Mary’s Church, village fêtes and local weddings and funerals. It has entertained the University of the Third Age at the Memorial Hall in Dereham, joined the ‘Rocking’ Bishop of Lynn for a fund-raising concert in Stanfield Church, and joined Three’s Company for a dramatic presentation of the wartime experiences of five women in WW1 on the centenary of the Armistice.

It rehearses on Wednesdays 3-4pm or 7.30-9pm at Dentford Heights, Litcham Road Gressenhall NR20 4HQ. It’s director, Jane Roberson was born in the village, spent 40 years as a professional singer and teacher in London, and is now back in the house where she was born.

There is no audition…all the director asks for is “enthusiasm and commitment”.

Enquiries to Jane Roberson 07956 921894.
